It’s hard to tell who is more pleased about the new face at Ernst Brothers—Jake Taylor, who is relinquishing some of his marketing and business development responsibilities to the “new hire,” or Teri D’Alonzo, the dynamo who is already making much of her experience in both marketing and custom renovation.
“Teri came in with her designer’s eye for the potential of a project, appreciation for quality craftsmanship and recognition of the value of strong connections,” says Jake, who is principal and controller for the firm, along with other duties that had included considerable marketing and business development prior to Teri coming on board.
Teri will be interfacing with potential industry partners, including developers, designers, realtors and architects, and with individual clients to showcase Ernst Brothers’ craftsmanship and attention to detail.
“I’m so excited to be able to work with a company with such high standards, attention to detail and outstanding workmanship,” she says. “I’m just as enthusiastic about this opportunity to use my knowledge of marketing alongside the creative experience that comes from my hands-on efforts in residential renovation.”
A nurse by training, Teri began her career at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) before moving into sales. Excelling in sales, marketing and sales leadership in the pharmaceutical and medical device arena, she was directly involved in multi-billion dollar product launches and earned several prestigious sales and marketing awards throughout her 30-year career.
At the same time, she indulged her passion for design, renovation and construction by successfully completing several home renovation projects for herself and others on the Main Line and in Philadelphia and Connecticut. Earlier this year and prior to connecting with Ernst Brothers, Teri left her medical device career to focus on designing and renovating full time with her own company—a second career that led in a roundabout way to her role on Ernst’s leadership team.
